Invest in the SMS Experience
We help fund teacher resources, enrichment programs, student opportunities, and community-building events that enhance the middle school experience. We are aiming to raise $45,000 for the upcoming school year. Every donation helps make a difference. The SMS PTO is a registered 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization.
Help Fund Next Year's Enrichment Programs
Programs such as Theater Espresso and Crocodile River Music provide engaging experiences that expose students to new ideas, perspectives, and cultures beyond the traditional classroom. The cost to bring these enrichment opportunities to all grades is approximately $10,000–$15,000, with individual programs ranging from $3,000–$5,000 or more.
With your support, we can continue offering these valuable experiences and ensure that every student benefits from meaningful enrichment opportunities throughout the school year.

* Our goal is to fund two enrichment experiences per grade level each year.
Enrichment Programs: Middle school is a time of exploration and discovery. PTO-funded enrichment programs bring new voices, ideas, and experiences into the classroom through assemblies, workshops, and special presentations. Our goal is to fund two enrichment experiences per grade level each year.
Teacher Stipends: Every teacher deserves access to tools that help students thrive. The SMS PTO provides stipends for classroom resources that may not be covered by the school budget, such as subscriptions, teaching materials, technology, and other educational tools. With approximately 80 teachers at SMS, our goal is to provide a $100 stipend to every teacher who requests one.
Gratitude & Appreciation: Our teachers and staff invest tremendous time, energy, and care into supporting students. This fund helps us provide appreciation lunches, Teacher Appreciation Week activities, and other expressions of gratitude throughout the year.
Wish List Fund: This fund allows the PTO to support emerging opportunities and priorities identified by students, staff, and the community.
Community Activities: Middle school isn't just about students—it's also about creating connections among families. This fund helps support community-building events such as family activities and parent gatherings.
Family Assistance Fund: Every student should have the opportunity to participate. This fund helps offset costs for families who may need assistance accessing PTO-supported activities.
Save the Day Fund: Sometimes unexpected needs arise. Whether replacing a broken staff refrigerator or addressing another urgent need, this fund allows the PTO to respond quickly when timing matters.
Administration: To operate effectively, the PTO maintains tools and resources such as website hosting, event signage, and hospitality supplies. These investments help our volunteers maximize their impact.
